Brian spent many early years as a carpenter on residential remodeling and custom home building projects. From time to time dabbled in framing, but mostly engaged as a trim carpenter. This included woodworking skills such as built-in cabinetry in the field, some shop cabinet maker time. Most of tis was for for library built-ins, bars and such. Though we are mostly shop bound currently every now and then we will get out and revisit our tradesmen roots. Digital fabrication is a blast, but we still appreciate traditional tradesman craftsmanship. We are also fond of up-cycling old material to make new things. Antiquated lumber, adaptive re-use to a traditional restoration are all honorable work. Local hardwoods materials are purchased when possible in a rough sawn state which we dress (thickness plane) in house.
