All metal tap handles produced from 0.25" aluminum plate. These are for 1201 New York Avenue Washington DC. This project required taking a 2D Adobe Illustrator file from the media agency who hired use, export as a DXF (or SVG) file then import into Fusion 360 CAD CAM software. Within fusion we extrude the 2D file into a 3D model. We add fillets for rounding sharp edges along with the various depths needed for this particular design. We post our models live for clients to view and for them to share with their clients. The live view component of Fusion allows for the item to be spun around 360 degrees to expose all facets for inspections. Also supports zooming in for finer detail and exploding the model into various parts. Once the model is approve we provide photorealist renderings and begin production. The same model the client views is used to produce the CAM toolpaths needed to drive the computer numeric controlled machinery. In this case it was a gantry style CNC machine which we used for CNC milling of aluminum.
