Industrial design and digital fabrication of a modern kiosk prototype for a client. This project was design to utilize color core medium density fiberboard manufactured by ForesCOLOR. This product has a consistent solid color all the way through the product. Also known as Through-Core material does not require any post finishing such as painting. If the product gets scratched the material exposed is exactly the same as the surface. We have found this higher density MDF / HDF bends nicely for laminating which makes for aesthetically please product designs. When milling MDF we use a .25" compression end mill. Lamination multiple layers with CNC cut ways can offer a unique multi-colored modern design for residential, commercial and retail spaces. Here we used black and red.
