Our high wattage laser project electronics and mechanical assembly has begun. We refer to this as mechatronics. Base cabinet will house some of the electronics and cooling system for the laser chassis that will sit a top. The stepper motors, linear slides, belts and pulley systems will all be in the upper laser chassis. We have the lead screws loosely sitting in place so we can move them to fit obtainable close loop belt(s). The Z-Bed is will be autofocus. It is raised and lowered with a single NEMA-23 stepper motor. The X-axis slides on the aluminum extrusion V-slot though we are seriously thinking about upgrading that to linear slides. This is moved with two NEMA-17 stepper motors. The Y-Axis will be on a liner slide and is moved with a single NEMA-17 motor.
