This DIY Laser Engraver project base frame is made of industrial grade T-slot extruded aluminum from 80/20 - (The Industrial Erector Set). We started with creating 3D renders from our 3D modeling program. 80/20 offers DSF extrusion profiles along with full 3D STEP files of their extrusions and components you can import in your CAD program. With these we have an excellent foundation for designing our frame that would match well with the actual physical product build. This frame was a little pricy but we wanted it be be flexible enough to iteration the prototype particulars as we went along. Also provided the aesthetic what we like. The extrusion stock has a combination of natural aluminum and anodized black Aluminum. The framing panels slide into the T-slot tracks prior to fastening the base top.
